President Teddy Roosevelt, the Environmentalist
Join us Mondays in February for learning and fun at Camp Discovery!
In celebration of Presidents' Day we will be exploring the environmental accomplishments of the 26th president of the United States, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. During his very active presidency, Roosevelt established approximately 230 million acres of public lands, including 150 national forests, the first 55 federal bird reservation and game preserves, 5 national parks, and the first 18 national monuments. This 30-45 minute session, led by experienced facilitators, is designed for 1st through 5th grade students. We will begin the session at 11:30 a.m. Guardians should remain on-site to supervise those in their care during picnic and play times (12:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.). Don't miss out on this enriching and exciting opportunity!
