Secrets of the Pinecone

Join us on Mondays in February for learning and fun at Camp Discovery!

Did you know that pinecones can stay on trees for up to 10 years before falling to the ground?  During that time seeds for new pine trees grow under the scales of the pinecone.  In this 30-45 minute session we will explore how pinecones work and why they look different during wet and dry conditions.  Led by experienced facilitators, this activity is designed for 1st through 5th grade students and begins at 11:30 a.m.  Guardians should remain on-site and supervise those in their care during play and picnic times (12:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.).  Don't miss out on this enriching and exciting opportunity!
